This video will show you how to import music from Spotify
The following topics will be explained below:
- Connect to Spotify
- Import a Playlist
- Music Mapping.
1) Connect to Spotify
If you have not done it already, the first thing you need to do is to connect your Spotify account to your Intelligent Cycling account. When you hit "import" the first time, you will be asked to connect to Spotify. All you need is your Spotify username and password.
Important
You need to have a Spotify Premium account to be able to connect to the Intelligent Cycling platform.
2) Import a playlist
When you connect to Spotify you will see all your Spotify playlists. Your playlists need to be public and they cannot contain any music stored locally on your device, known as "local files". If you have many playlists you can search for a specific playlist using the search input field or simply scroll down the list to find the right playlist and then hit "import".
Warning
Your playlists need to be PUBLIC and you cannot add any local files to them. Only music from Spotify!
3) Music Mapping
When the playlist has been imported into the Session Designer you can see the relevant details of each track (title, artist, length, and BPM) in the list of songs below the workout. Under the timeline, you will see "musical sections". "Musical sections" are graphical representations of the music's energy. The sections are either white or different tones of grey. The whiter the section, the "noisier" the music. This helps you match the energy level of an interval in your workout to the energy of the music. Pick "louder" musical sections for high energy intervals. To get started building your workout, simply move the timeline indicator bar and hit play!
Crossfade
You need to set crossfade in Spotify to exactly 10 seconds in order for our platform to sync the music with your workout perfectly. Crossfade blends songs together seamlessly to avoid gaps between songs. Learn more here.
