Key Terms and Definitions Follow
Below you will find a list of key terms used in our software. You can click on select terms to learn more.
Camp | A camp is a collection of workouts. Camps work like folders: Users can create their own camps to organize their workouts. |
Cue Card | A note added by the workout creator that appears at a specific time during the workout. Cue Cards are visible only to the workout owner and will show on the connected mobile device. |
Freestyle | A section of the platform for workout and event players designed for on-the-fly use in classes without a premade workout profile. |
FTP |
FTP or "functional threshold power" is the highest power a cyclist can maintain in a steady state without fatiguing. FTP is used to set training zones when working with power and is measured in watts. It estimates the maximum effort a cyclist can sustain for one hour. |
HRmax |
Maximum heart rate is the maximum rate at which your heart can beat and still produce a suitable cardiovascular output. We use %HRmax to define training heart rate training zones. |
IF | IF is "Intensity Factor" and is a number used when training with power to represent how intense a workout is. If the number is close to 1.0, then your FTP is likely set to be low. |
Interval | Intervals are the smallest parts of a workout profile. Each interval includes details like duration, intensity, rpm and position on the bike. |
Journey | The Journey is a player that generates immersive virtual worlds based on the workout profile in real time. |
Official Workouts | Workouts highlighted or added by Intelligent Cycling, found under the "Browse Workouts" section. |
Page | A "Page" is a company profile on the Intelligent Cycling platform. |

Training Parameters | Training parameters are the selected metrics used as targets during a training session. There are three training parameters to choose from: RPE, %HRmax and FTP. |
TSS | TSS, or "training stress score", is a score estimating the amount of stress on the body from a workout based on intensity and duration. |
User Workouts | Workouts created by other users on the Intelligent Cycling platform, not by Intelligent Cycling itself. |
