About FitnessPlayer
Founded in Sweden in 2011, FitnessPlayer was born out of a need for legal and reliable music solutions for gym classes. FitnessPlayer´s succes is the result of long-term collaboration between fitness instructors, the music industry, and skilled tech and UX developers.
The following topics will be explained below:
- How to connect to FitnessPlayer via the Intelligent Cycling Desktop App.
- How to import a playlist.
- Music mapping.
- Playing the workout with integrated music.
- Using playlists from other FitnessPlayer users.
Note
FitnessPlayer does not offer a desktop app for PC & MAC. To use the integration you need a second device (mobile/tablet) with FitnessPlayer open and active to play the music. This rule also applies if a workout is played in the Intelligent Cycling mobile app, as both apps need to be open and active.
Allow Remote Control
To communite between apps, you need to "allow remote control" in your FitnessPlayer settings:
- Open FitnessPlayer App
- Tab profile icon in the top right corner on "home"
- Tab the settings icon in the top right corner
- Activate "allow remote control"
1. How to connect to FitnessPlayer via the Intelligent Cycling Desktop App
When you open the Intelligent Cycling Session Designer you can find the FitnessPlayer icon on the lower left side of the screen. You will be asked to log in using your FitnessPlayer account information when you click the icon.
2. How to import a playlist
When you're successfully connected to FitnessPlayer, the "import music window" launches. The FitnessPlayer logo will be visible on the left side of the screen, and your playlist will be visible on the right-hand side. You can either scroll to find the playlist you need for this workout or use the search bar in the top-right corner. Finally, click the playlist you want to use.
3. Music mapping (not available in current version)
The Session Designer generates an audio waveform below the workout timeline when the playlist has been imported. This graph indicates when the volume level rises and falls, helping you pinpoint when the music is high energy or low energy. You can now move along the timeline-indicator bar and hit play to listen to the music while adding intervals. When your workout is done, click SAVE WORKOUT in the top-right corner.
4. Playing the workout with integrated music
When you've saved your workout you can find it in the "My Workouts" section. We display the FitnessPlayer logo next to all workouts with a connected FitnessPlayer playlist.
When you hit "play" on the workout, a message pops up at the bottom of the player-selection window, telling you that we are searching for available devices! Make sure to open FitnessPlayer on a phone/tablet and login to make it active. When you start the workout the music will start in sync, as long as FitnessPlayer is open and active on the second device.
